it needs short-term cellaring but should be just about immortal in the cellar

It produced interesting wines specifically in Barbaresco and almost nowhere else in Northern Italy

this is one to strongly consider

The finish is soft and luscious

As such my rating is a compromise as I suspect that this will develop even better complexity with age and thus even if the balance isn’t perfect

Giuseppe Mascarello, Barolo Villero Vintage:2011 it needs short-term cellaring butModerately saturated medium red. Perfumed aromas of cherry, strawberry, coffee, mocha and flowers. Rich, suave and concentrated; nicely horizontal on the palate, but with its flesh cut byt slightly spiky acidity. The broad finish features dusty tannins and lovely floral persistence. Seems a tad rustic today and in need of patience. Stephen Tanzer
