The wine was made from a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Merlot
it is impossible to ignore the wine’s richness and depth
A more deeply pitched and brooding nose only grudgingly reveals its aromas of cassis plum liqueur and pungent earth where the latter is also found on the vibrant and well-detailed big-bodied and tautly muscular flavors that deliver excellent depth and persistence
This is at once seductive and classy and should also drink reasonably well young but reward up to a decade of cellaring
This was the first time I had tasted Ipsus
Prunotto, Barolo Bussia other_regions_australia The wine was made fromVery dark ruby red. Intense blackberry, plum and Indian spices. Full bodied, with superripe, powerful tannins and a long, long finish. Balanced, refined and beautifully textured. Better than I remember. Impressive. 1997 Italian blind retrospective. Best after 2009. 1,500 cases made. JS
