Wade found the fern growing in the forest near Gyeong Ju, South Korea during a 1997 visit, and was able to gather spores. His find closely resembles the widely cultivated Pteris 'Wilsonii', but has been winter hardy here since 2007, so we have assigned it the cultivar name Pteris 'Korean Petticoat' and it became a 2013 Plant
