Description
The Barolos are vinified in stainless steel
There is ample structure here as well though it’s largely buffered by all of the mid-palate extract and I particularly like the depth
this offers good potential for drinking over the next decade – but no further
the use of French oak has become more measured and the Barolos are now among the elite wines of the region in virtually every vintage
38% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot
Colgin, IX Estate Size:3x750ml The Barolos are vinified in(69% cabernet sauvignon, 13% merlot, 11% cabernet franc and 7% petit verdot), Saturated ruby. Blackberry, spices and graphite on the nose. Broad and rich but also magically airy in the mouth, with compelling perfume to the dark fruit and mineral flavors. A very dark, deep, young wine with terrific finishing grip. Here, too, the substantial tannins will require at least five years of patience. Stephen Tanzer
